My list...

I was going to save this list for my 100th post, but it's the only writing project that I've actually completed lately, so I'm posting it now. Enjoy

100 Things about ME!!
1. My cyberspace name is JKRunning, but my name is really Brooke. I'll tell you where the JK came from another time.
2. I was born in Ohio
3. Since then I have lived in 10 different states, and Germany.
4. My father was in the military.
5. I hated moving around so much so I swore I would never marry anyone in the military.
6. My husband is a Marine. So much for swearing.
7. Except for the Northwest corner, I’ve been all over the U.S.
8. I eat entirely too much junk food.
9. I am extremely bad at small talk; this can come off as bitchy at times.
10. I will talk to anyone about running.
11. As long as they don’t ask stupid questions about marathons, that annoys me.
12. I have completed two Marine Corps Marathons. The second one was the most humbling experience of my life.
13. I will train harder for the third.
14. I met, became engaged, and married my husband in 7 months time.
15. That was 8 years ago.
16. I love cheesy, college humor movies like American Pie and Eurotrip.
17. The birth certificate says 31, but I’m eternally 28.
18. I hate wearing make-up, but I wear it anyway.
19. Except lipstick, I just can’t do it.
20. I have entirely too many black shirts.
21. And tank tops.
22. One of my goals is to have awesome arms.
23. The first time I went to college I dropped out because of a boy. Not that my grades were worth mentioning.
24. I went back last fall. I got a 3.9 GPA last semester. Things are different when you are paying for it yourself.
25. I want to become an OR nurse.
26. My goal is to work for a plastic surgeon.
27. I’m not ashamed to say that I want lipo-suction on my stomach.
28. I’ve considered becoming a gestational surrogate.
29. I loved being pregnant, but I don’t want any more children.
30. I have horrible grammar skills. I am the queen of unnecessary commas.
31. It is all about Diet Coke….and sugar-free red bull.
32. I make a really good margarita.
33. I have people who I think are only friends with me because of that fact.
34. I am still friends with my best friend from High School, and all of my college girl friends.
35. I was in a Sorority.
36. Carrie Underwood, from American Idol, is my Sorority Sister.
37. I was once a manager for an Applebee’s Restaurant.
38. I have also been a waitress, a bartender, a lifeguard, a camp counselor, taught swim lessons, coached a swim team and taught cheerleading to elementary school kids.
39. I miss bartending.
40. I used to hate my name. People used to ask me if I was named after Brooke Shields, even though we are practically the same age.
41. I don’t mind my name anymore.
42. I have never smoked---anything!!
43. My husband thinks I would be really funny if I “just tried it.” He says when he retires we are going to Amsterdam to have some brownies.
44. Somewhere, on my husbands’ side of the family, we are related to Betsy Ross.
45. I have a Boston Red Sox hat in just about every color they come in. The green, St. Patrick’s Day one is my favorite.
46. I hold grudges for a long time. Just ask my husband.
47. I think my iPod is my most favorite possession.
48. I can live without my cell phone.
49. I can’t do coffee. I start my day with a diet coke.
50. Most of my college relationships ended because the boy got back together with their ex.
51. When we retire, my hubby and I want to open a beach bar on a tropical island somewhere. A local joint, not anything too touristy.
52. Our bar will sponsor a marathon every year. We plan on having a margarita water station at mile 25. We don’t plan on having a lot of finishers, just margaritas.
53. We also want to hike the Appalachian Trail
54. I wish I could sing.
55. I love it when it rains. I think it is sexy.
56. I lived in Hawaii for 3 years, but I missed seasons. Now I miss Hawaii.
57. We lived very close to where they are now filming the TV show “LOST”
58. We moved to New Hampshire after that.
59. I didn’t pick up a New England accent when we lived there. But I do say “wicked” now.

61. I’d rather do just about anything besides clean my bathroom.
62. I do love to vacuum though.
63. My L and R earplugs must always be in the right ears.
64. The fact that I am vain does not bother me.. The fact that people see something wrong with it does.
65. I believe in karma and juju.
66. I’m not vain enough to try to keep up with the Jones’. I’d rather be the Griswald’s.
67. I worry that my youngest daughter is so shy that I am the only person that will ever realize how funny she is.
68. I worry that my oldest daughter is too smart for her own good. I also worry that she will let kids at school “get to her” about how smart she is.
69. I once flew in a humongous Military Cargo plane with my 2 small children to go see my husband in Okinawa. It was quite the adventure.
70. Most things that creep, slither, scurry and fly scare me. My husband thinks it’s hilarious that I vacuum up spiders instead of killing them.
71. I’m learning to like gardening so that my husband and I will have more in common.
72. I’m thankful that I’ve never had a problem that a Corona with lime or a little shopping couldn’t fix.
73. My celebrity “free-be” list contains: Lance Armstrong, Kenny Chesney, and Matthew McConeghey. My blog name was inpired by Matthew.

81. My favorite color is white
82. I followed the Atkins Diet once and lost 20+ lbs.
83. When I took nutrition last semester and realized how bad low carb/ high protein diets are for you, I was shocked.
84. I am now on the eat-less/ exercise more diet. I believe this is the best weight loss strategie there is.
85. I was on #75 of this list before I remembered that I started another list like this on my lap- top. This one is better, so I am going with this one.
86. I love to cook, but I always eat too much when I’m cooking and I am usually not hungry by the time mealtime rolls around.
87. I am trying to grow my hair out. I figure it’s the last time of my life when long hair is “okay.” After that I figure people will think I’m the “old lady” who’s trying to look younger by having long hair.
88. Besides track and cross-country, I also lettered in swimming, soccer, cheerleading and drill team in high school.
89. I wish I could play tennis.

93. Both of my children were born on their due dates.
94. Neither of them look like me. Not even a little bit.

97. I have a strange obsession with my Tivo.
98. My husband is my best friend...still.
99. I’ll even admit that my kids are awesome.
100. My cup runneth over.

Red Bull? I can't stand that stuff! :)

I like that marathon idea, though. I had a shot of Yuengling at Mile 22 of both Philadelphia Marathons I have run. Drinking and running go togehter so well! (Except for today...)

My Dad was a Marine - though only a short while and then the reserves, so no travel.
I'll be 41 but feel 30 when I'm around my kids, 50 when I'm around myself.
I like black shirts and jeans - it makes for an easy choice when picking out clothes in the morning.
I love my iPod
I hiked all of the AT in Georgia, starting a section of NC this year.
I wish I could motivate myself to run again, I'm good at it.
We are the Griswalds - at least that is what my Wife says when we load up the minivan with our three kids, the bikes on the back and the storage bin on top as we drive to Maryland, Hilton Head, Orlando, etc.
My step-father is a dentist. I'm not afraid of him, at all.
I am afraid of my Dad. He was a Marine after all. But mostly I'm not afraid of him, rather afraid of disapointing him. Now he is retired in Arizona. My stepfather, the dentist, is retired in Hilton Head and works one day a week on Paris Island, wears a Navy hat and doesn't correct people when they think he is in it (he never served) - ironic isn't it.

I love the “100 Things list” Where did you live in Germany? I have a brother who is an OR nurse at Syracuse University Hospital (NY) – at least last I heard, he never writes anymore.

I used to bartend, this was fun a fun job. Unfortunately it was the same time as I was in the army – I didn’t sleep much.

I love BBQ’s too, the more people the better! We need to have an RBF BBQ!

My wife is my best friend…still!

I can relate to a lot more that you mentioned, the RBF really is one big family.

I just noticed Rae's comment - it would be sooo cool to quit my job, sell the house, and through-hike the Appalachian Trail - but I think my wife would no longer be my best friend ;-)

Planning on coming to the Pacific Northwest any time soon?

Gah! Our bodies NEED that stuff from time to time! It's been scientifically proven!

I wouldn't worry about it. Bitchy can come off as sexy at times.

> 12. I have completed two Marine Corps Marathons.

MARINE CORPS marathon? Is there a gauntlet involved? Is there a drill sergeant yelling "You're weak, you maggot!"

Why don't you join a masters swim team to get in some cross training? :-)

Indeed!

Ever seen that scene in Ghost Busters where the jerk from the EPA shuts down the power that is holding all of the baddies in a vacuum thingy?

> 74. ...my favorite show of all time is Friends.

Then we can NEVER be friends! I hate that show!!! Hehe!

I can't believe how similar a lot of this is to what would be on my list...is I make a 100 things list...which I might...but I do too many "dot-dot-dots" when I type...

Holy crap, you're a cool chick! I'd love a margarita now. ;)
